On the last Wednesday of June I went to a performance by Kim Duk-Soo’s Samulnori Hanullim Art Troupe for free at Gwanghwamun Art Hall.
On the way to the art hall was the Seoul City Wall (Historic Site No. 10), which follows the ridges of the four main mountains surrounding the centre of Seoul. The wall was initially constructed in 1396 and served as a city wall for the longest time among the existing walls in the world. (http://seoulcitywall.seoul.go.kr/)
No photos were allowed during the performance so I took a photo+short video of the encore stage where everyone got together and had fun. I didn’t know Korean traditional music would be this interesting and I did not know that they held performances in so many different countries.
